Im working on several sites now for a client & the perpetual question: 'How long until this site starts paying off?'
I typically counter, 'what does paying off mean to you?'
Most clients (& myself on my own sites) want to be making gansta cash within a month but, is this realistic?
What's been everyones experience? How long from an idea to the site being up & running & turn a profit (including all expenses-site design, hosting, etc)?

About a year experimenting with several designs and different ways to make money. I usually pull $20-40 in afiiliate sales and $10 in adsense per day. With advertising cost of $10.00 in adwords. Not really gansta cash but a nice supliment to my regular income!

First coin: one week. Plus 2.5 months for payment/cross atlantic cheque/cash delay of course.

Break even point (investment returned) of new content on existing site: 0.5 - 2 years (fact).

Of new site: 1 - 4 years (estimated).
