With all the talk about which ads pay the most ...

I would like some advice on how many ads per page or per site people have...

Would too many ads drop CPM and CTR rates? thanks

Yup.

However, each site is different, and what caused a problem on my site may possibly work on yours. I'd suggest that you give each banner it's own channel so that you can monitor how each performs. If the banners all perform well, then keep them, if they don't then dump 'em!

Okay... I have a high traffic site... for a niche site that gets between 5-9 thousand hits a day... with over 300 pages which I update and add about 3 new pages a week... all full with content and more content

I have a text ad under my headings and teaser paragraph and one of those adlink word 400?x19? ad at the bottom of the article...

and a skyscraper in the right hand column...

Too much? Over kill? however I still ever earn on average a mere 5 bucks a day...

I'd be inclined to test what happens if you lose some of the blocks. Firstly, unless the adlinks is working well, dump it. At the adsense site, there is a "Heat map" that shows where the best placements tend to be. Have a look at that and then try just one ad block and give it a trial for a week or so. You may find your earnings improve, and you may not. For me there was a deffinite improvement.

My site has a few pages with 2 ads (not counting the index page) but most have only one adsense and one top banner from ad networks running CPM Image ads, adsense is now set for text only and I have been working like a mad _____h for the last 4 days putting adsense on the rest of my pages along with an affiliate link I am trying out also fixing some stray title and meta tags. Saw the daily income go up today.

Hard work pays off.

I have read where google does not look at the meta tags. Psychic is only mentioned in them, which I am now removing that word, and my site is loaded down with ads from psychics. :(

Just finished deleting, deleting from 300+ articles pages! And guess what guys... your advice was on the mark!

WOW my CTR jumped from 1.7% (for 2 months) to 4.5% within several hours - THANKS!

Just one more issue... would my articles pages be better serviced if I only had the (one) Banner (468 x 60)ad under my <h1> title and teaser paragraph (which would work in the so called "heat" spot) followed my the content text? and without the (4) adlink horizonal ad at the bottom?

As I am limted with my keywords because I have a very narrow niche site but good daily traffic...
