I have a <snip> site, which garners about 250 unique visitors a day. As a recent subscriber to the webmaster boards, I have noticed many raking in money as if it grew off of a tree. How can I effectively use my site to do this?

I get about 700-1,000 unique people a day and I have only gotten 3 clicks in 4 days its so sad lol. I would say make more sites or try to direct ur ads twards more of what ur site is.

follow the google optimization tips page (you can find it in your adsense reports) and you should make some quick $$.

Don't forget people like to brag so take that with a grain of salt :)

But when you are prepared to work hard and make good sites for your visitors you will surely make a nice buck.

I notice that many people build numerous "sites." All I want to do is build up this one, which can be successful because of its content. Any real good links for things such as Search Engine Optimization and other good tips?

Just spend a lot of time reading (also older) threads on this site and you will find enormous amounts of information.

Some quick tips are:

  • Limit a page to one mayor subject, if possible.
  • Title tag is the most important for search engines, use it well. I have good success with very few words in it, this way the words that are in it will have more weight. I usually limit it to 5 words, unless I really need to put in more words. Remember this will also show up in search engine results so make it attractive to searchers.
  • Repeat your important keywords a few times in the text of the article but don't overdo it. You could also make the most important one bold in the first paragraph to give it some extra weight.
  • Make a sitemap or preferably link directly from your homepage to your subpages - this helps increadibly with a starting low PR site. Make sure you use good anchor text.

Are you *sure* those are not "hits"? If so you may only have 100 people per day which is much more consistent with that very low click through rate.
