It appears the work I did in May with AdLinks and some minor ad block adjusting have made a difference as the CTR is at an all time high for my site even in the midst of the summer traffic slowdowns.
Anyone else seeing an upward trend in June?
At a certain point, adding content will become more "productive" as a way of increasing my income, but I haven't hit that point yet. So far, optimizing my existing site is still more effective.
The question for me is, what is the ceiling beyond which I can not go unless I add significant amounts of new content or increase traffic?
I'm of the opinion TRAFFIC makes the money and new CONTENT keeps them coming back, it's not an either or situation it's a tandem combination effect. However, in terms of sheer dollars, I found its mostly a function of traffic and adsense optimization - content can bring more traffic too, but it's your adsense optimization and SEO skills that can make or break it. My first month was over $1k in adsense, now I'm over $4k/month and trying to go to the next level and most of the improvement has been SEO work.
FYI, I wrote to Google about their offer to help optimize my site and they said it couldn't be optimized more than it already is so I'm done with that part. I was on one hand nice to hear, on the other mildly depressing as it obviously limits my options for improving.
Believe, have patience, and learn SE marketing,
The reason people dopn't come to your site, is because they don't know it exists,
Spend a few months on backlink generation, and sit back, and watch the magic, even when your sleeping,

I just hope that the changes stick. What I have noticed is a LOT of new ads in my ad space. It seems this recent update had a good increase in advertisers for me. CPC still holds to my average, but it also seems that the fresh set of ads and advertisers has increased the CTR a little too, combined with a generally good increase in traffic (which is in line with a steady traffic growth for me).
Yeah, I know... I'm a small-timer at $200-300/mo norms... but it's some nice extra spending cash for a hobby site I used to run for free. :)

Maybe that good create even more flow?
I have been fixing code and optimising pages, etc. Got a new crawl and all of my changed pages are showing up. I do well for search engine 2 word phrases, like #1 and #2, and I am showing an increase in visitors this month. I am thrilled, hard work does pay off LOL
LOVING IT!
