Wondering about the Adsense profit model; would disclosing publisher's cut really harm it? Wouldnt disclosing the publisher's take, merely attract more publishers and advertisers?

For example, with other CPM schemes, such as casalemedia and fastclick, the disclose up front how much the publisher gets. In one case it is clearly 70%.

The biggest threat to the profit model of these CPM schemes, is increased cost to the advertiser, but I cannot see how keeping the publisher's cut secret actually keeps advertising costs down.

I think they do it more to protect themselves from giving some publishers more and some less depending on a vareity of factors from volume, quality and strength of coffee and Google on a particular day.

If they gave everyone the same amount, I think it would be an easier decision.
