Adlinks and impressions

If you add additional adblocks you, of course, see your impression count go up.

I've added adlinks to a number of pages to test them out and, weirdly enough, though I registered a healthy number of additional clicks, the impression count for these pages did not go up.

Traffic was absolutely normal, total clicks were significantly higher than normal (due to the adlinks) and yet impressions at the end of the day did not rise at all.

Are adlink impressions counted differently somehow, or is this just an adsense reporting glitch?

I have added channels for AdLinks.

Every shown AdLink on a site counts as an ad impression.

ownerrim, you are seeing PAGE impressions, which wouldn't change. If you create a channel for the Links blocks, as jetero suggests, you will be able to run a channels report and see AD UNIT impressions.

Actually, already created a separate channel for the adlinks code. I guess I didn't realize that when you're looking at the aggregate data you're seeing a total of page impressions versus total ad unit impressions.
