What CTR is considered OK?

Well, I mean what CTR is ok, what is considered too low and a major change should take place, what CTR is ok and little changes might increase it?

It would be fun to know and translate those CTR to
signals on how should I work on my websites.

Well, it depends on your site, niche, visitors, and many other factors. For example, if your ads are on a forum they will be really low.

I'm not happy if mine goes below 13%... but to a lot of people that's really high. It depends on your web site.

So, is that the CTR per page or per individual ad unit?

My CTR averages around 2%-3% but my site is a directory and everything is designed to get clicks by the nature of the beast so if 2% of the clicks land on the ads out of 45,000+ page views/day I'm a happy camper.

I've just recently begun tracking my ads separately and was shocked to see how low the CTR on the skyscraper was:

skycraper (text on left): .6% (throughout entire site)
adlinks (above skyscraper): 4.9% (througout entire site)
250x250 text box on home page only: 6.6%

Is anybody else having this kind of dismal CTR with a skyscraper?
