My big problem in Adsense

I had receive my FIRST payement from google. The amount is a little bit higher than $100 (since i am only a beginer), according to the check, it is payable to a certain bank here in the Philippines. BUT very unfortunately, that bank is a very big bank and it require a $2000 to open an account. But man, i`m just a low earning employee in the Philippines and i dont have that amount of money yet to open an account. And It only means that i cannot incash my check. What can i do now? can i incash it to other bank? How long can i hold the incashment of my check? Thanks.

Try to explain bank about your problem and show them check.Explain to them how it is going and that you will receive check every month.I'm not sure that it will works but you can try.
I think that you must cash check within 6 months.

Another option is to ask Google to withhold future payments until you reach a certain sum. They can then send you that sum in one check.

I imagine that cheques are good for quite a while, if that's what you are asking. Like maybe at least 6 months. Maybe look for a cheque cashing place, or try the airport or post office or something...

I'm glad you draw my attention to this point, i think I'll face too.

What I'm going to do is that I'll borrow the $2000 from anyone just for a few days, so I'll open the account, then i will write a check to this person with the $2000 which he will be able to cash from my account.

Make sure your next check should be in peso and not in US dollars. As far as your dollar check is concerned, you can open a dollar account with another bank that requires less amount to open the account. Once active you can deposit your dollar check on that account. You may also try your luck at money-changers as some will change dollar checks after deducting a percentage of the amount as their commission.

man, thats a very big amount to borrow. Can I incash it to other bank other than specified in the check?

Hey try to look for a money changer store and ask them if they encash foreign checks. That is also what I am doing here in Cebu if i will not deposit my google check in the bank. I don't think there is no money changer even one that is not encash foreign checks in your place. The money changers deduct 1 peso to a dollar.

Does your check specify a bank? In my case, my check specify a bank, that is, citibank.

Your personal account has NOTHING TO DO with "city bank of NY".

You need to go to ANY bank which will take care of this check (take your check with you and show them).

Ask about commision percentage and choose.

Try to inquire from the DBP (Development Bank of the Philippines - They only require $100 to open an account, as far as I know...then you start that account with your Google check. They will know what to do to help you.

jcmiras, I am also from the Philippines. You don't need to deposit the check in Citibank only. You can go to any other banks. I copied and pasted the reply I gave you in the Philippine Adsensers? thread:

jcmiras, if you chose to get your check in US $ then just go to your bank and ask about the procedure in depositing a foreign check. It's actually very easy. In my case, my bank is Metrobank, I just sign the check on the back, fill-up a form called Request for Collection and then just give it to them along with the check. You can have the check deposited to your dollar account or peso savings account (they will automatically convert the money to peso if you chose to have it credited to your peso account). It will take about 20 working days or more before the check is cleared.
If you chose to get your check in Peso, then just deposit it to your bank as you normally deposit a local check. It will clear in about 3 days, I guess.
