What happened to the "declining earnings" threads?

A refreshing change

It's nice to see a lot of discussions about the workings of AdSense, and (at this moment) no "declining earnings" threads in sight. AdSense must be in an upswing....

Yeah, it seems like most of that has been in the update thread lately, and mostly related to lost traffic affecting earnings.

:) Doesn't mean that declining earnings aren't still there. I've stopped thinking about my declining earnings, as there's little I can do about it.

May 7-17 I experienced some depressing revenues, but things have perked up nicely now. Weekends are still low, but that's been the trend for weeks now so nothing new there. Overall, May looks like it will be lower than April, but not catastrophically so (as I feared mid-month). Not too shabby over here.

We all discovered AdLinks, the clouds parted and divine beams of light hit our websites.

Guess I'll cancel my appointment with Dr. Kevorkian.

I suspect that a lot of the declining earnings people have their hands full with the Bourbon update - if you lose 90% of your natural Google traffic, very possibly the last thing on your mind is that you are earning 10 cents lower eCPM than yesterday.

When you set your alarm to wake up at 4AM, when earnings are in for the day... you know you're making money...

if you lose 90% of your natural Google traffic
you might be in a mood to dump AdSense. The rest of us may start an "improved earnings" thread soon.

Improved earnings threads are rare. When my earnings are improving I think it's just me, my wonderful content, my clever ideas... but I'm not inclined to gloat online. Well maybe I'm inclined--but I try not to...

When my earnings are declining I hit the forums right away hoping to find that others are hit as well, hoping it's not just me, hoping to compare notes on the disaster.

So true, Andi. It sucks when you only have things to brag about.;-( Makes people not like you and want to hit you in the head with blunt objects.

I was one of those guys posting about the amazing increase in $$ when everyone was complaining earnings were going down, a couple weeks ago.

Appears the tables have turned :)

Oh well, Google will return to normal eventually ... (hopefully..?).

I was just about to post a 'Increasing EPC' post but I thought it better to tuck it in here instead.

I've been complaining about Bourbon update - losing almost all remaining G traffic and I don't get much other free traffic :( So most visitors are paid for.

HOWEVER, lately EPC is up nicely - I had a single click this morning that would buy a prime rib dinner at any restraurant. CTR is sometimes a little scary in the morning - 200% to 400%! on a few channels.

I had a recent 'requested' adsense review of my website to improve performance - that in itself was a bit scary. But they didn't have anything significant to say (maybe they flipped the limit switch on EPC for my site). Now if I could get my visitors back I could buy prime rib for the family.

I'm seeing an upswing in EPC for the last 2 weeks also, up almost 50% over April. Could it be the effect of advertisers now banning scraper sites? Hope it lasts...

My earnings are falling, but it's due to a site that was sending me a few hundred people a day's domain record expiring; it should be back soon :D
