I refreshed my stats page (yeah, we all do it!) and I noticed my impressions went up around 200 and my clicks went up 13!

Woah! Had visions of getting the dreaded "mail" off G so I posted them first. LOL!

I don't know what triggers the AdSense flags but I haven't had any issues with it. I dont click my own ads. And I figure if one person clicks them over and over then they get filtered out for a while. I see it as trouble when someone keeps on going to the site because remember google knows when that IP goes to your site, its like they have some of your logs since you are integrating their service on your site.

Maybe it can see that at this time this IP keeps coming to the site and clicking it. mMmm Smart adsense?

Don't you think this is a little over reacting?

from google:

Occasionally there will be a delay of 24 hours or more in the impression
reports you see on the website. As a result, the reports may show a
clickthrough rate which is slightly higher than your average. We assure
you that your clicks and impressions are being tracked even if they do not
show up immediately on your reports.

no, I don't. G replied saying it had been noted and were thankful for the communication from me...before they had to communicate WITH me.

good job well done.

Up until earlier this evening (EST) my CTR was 2x the average...had me sweating a little. By tonight it is almost back to average.

I have a feeling a lot of people are tense because they have all "their eggs" in the Google basket.

About this "all their eggs in the Google basket"

Id like to bet that 100% of webmasters have "most of their eggs in the Google basket" wether you like it or not!

We ruin your 100% theory. We have our eggs spread throughout a number of baskets but we've survived the dotcom crash too and learned to not rely heavily on one ad network.

I was talking in general about Google not just Google Adsence!

One thing to remember is that the Google basket is the ONLY available basket for smaller sites. All of the others require too high a traffic rate.

Basically, that's why all my eggs are in the Adsense basket: there's nothing relevant on the affiliate networks (or nothing relevant enough to get more than a 0.001% CTR and a close-to-zero conversion), and all the ad networks require more traffic than I currently have.

I guess this is a little off-topic, but I do see quite a lot of warnings to diversify. Honest, some of us can't! :-)

You could try private affiliate software, other se and directories, creating partnerships, creating and syndicating content, newsletters...

I think he was saying that we're reliant on Google for our inbound traffic as well. I know my traffic would take a hit without Google searchers.

Lil_Red,
