Hi

These companies that offer to sell you traffic, ie, 10,000 per week or month for x amount of dollars.

Firslty, do they work?

Secondly, if they did and your traffic increased 10 fold, so did your ctr and page impressions etc, would G jump on you? surely G knows your average and would notice an alarming increase in earnings.

Your thoughts

Don't waste your money on those programs. Mostly they only bring you junk traffic which is absolutely worthless.

A good alternative is a PPC program like AdWords or Overture.

I did think of adwords but my earnings per day wouldnt cover the expense so at this time its not an option I average $18 a day and 500 page views so I guess its not bad but just thought if I doubled my traffic it would be a comfortable figure, any suggestions?

The problem with Adsense is that (legitimate) traffic is not directly proportional with the income.
The same for any other AS parameter.

You simply cannot build a business around the Adsense.
As with a sunny weather, just enjoy it while it lasts.

This was especially true in my case. I tested AdSense on about .5% of my site to start and I was really happy with the initial results. Then I'm thinking, wow, when the ads are installed site-wide, my earnings will go up proportionally and I can retire this month! Sadly, I barely doubled by earnings. There really is no magic ratio for traffic from what I've seen.

The way I work it is mixing it in with other ad and text networks. Splitting the pie up works best. 100% Adsense (or any network for that matter) is a wise decision.
