Will AdSense put competitor's ads on my site?

Hi,

I am new to google adsense.Can anyone help me as on what basis google will put the ads on my site.I mean will they put ads of my competitors sites.

Yes it is possible that there could be competitors, but then you could just block those from being used. Read some previous posts here in this forum.

I have stopped blocking competitors ads because it makes absolutely no sense to do so (at least to me).

If a visitor clicks an ad (or any external link for that matter), they're doing so because they didn't find what they were looking for on my site. Or perhaps some other factor caused them not to buy from me. It really doesn't matter, the bottom line is they're clicking away, perhaps never to return.

When they click away via AdSense, I still make money. Who pay's that money? The advertiser. If the advertiser in question is a competitor, so much the better. I'm happy to take the competition's money, especially since there is no guarantee they'll make a sale either!

birdstuff--good point, but keep in mind that if a competitor's ad appears on your site, many people will SEE it and not necessarily click on it. You're giving them eyeballs in addition to the clicks.

I'd rather not give direct competitors the exposure.
