I had a pretty good day yesterday on Adsense. My clickthrough and payout was above normal. Now, today, I have super low clickthrough rates and my ads are charity type ads with little relevance.

I've noticed charity ads appearing in past and want to know if there is way to stop them.

I'm wondering if I can filter out all the charity companies.

You can filter charity ads til the cows come home but it really is a waste of time. They are only shown if:

1. they have no relevant ads to post on your site;
2. they cannot (or have not) determine what ads should be posted on your site;

Even if you filter all the charity ads, it is likely you would get a big blank white box (or whatever background color you selected) in its place.

There's a (3): They have determined the page at issue to contain "offensive content" - meaning that they have found the presense or a concentration of certain keywords or phrases which raise the concern that an advertiser or reader would object to ads being on the page.

Charity = people helping people = WW

The charity ads will also appear on a page untill googlebot crawls the page and determines what ads may be relevant to that page. Even if a page has already been crawled and indexed, you will often have to wait for a "revisit" by the bot before it stops showing charity ads.

I would like to think that this is google's way of "giving something back", but i don't know.

If you really don't like charity you should consider looking for questions and answers in a paid forum.

I seemed to have fixed problem now by filtering charity sites. However, charity ads still appear on my offline webpages but that is no big deal.

I'm glad to get rid of those damn charity ads now. It was doing a service to nobody because CTR's were extremely low.

I've noticed now that all my ads seem to be the same now. I have all different types of articles and usually it changes a little for each article. Now it all just seems to be same. I'm going to try unbanning charity and see what happens.
