I am from India, and here is a suggestion for all them.
In US, your living standard and basic cost is much higher. In India, it is pretty lower....you can not imagine.
For example, for a single family with one children, you can live here in a standard city for as low as $300-$400 per month that includes all basic needs like house rent, food, good quality cloth, shopping, occassional short tour, maintaining your computer, telephone, electricity bill, schooling for your children etc. Still you can buy some insuranceSounds impossible, but true, incredible.
In a metro city, that can be around $500-$600 p/mo.
For your AdSense site, you will get 24 hour wireless internet at 144kbps through mobilephone for as low as $18 per month. Fully mobile across the country. means, you can enjoy your true mobile life (with your laptop) at any city and village in India without disconnection.
24 hour Broadband connection is just around $10-$15 p/mo.
You can get your AdSense check here delivered by DHL or simple post, (if you use Indian address) or as usual, deposit it in your US bank, and access the money here from any ATM. In India, you will find at least one ATM in even a small city.
So think serious, decide yourself, if you earn more than $1000 to $1500 p/mo from AdSense, and come here. You will save a plenty of income each month, so that if even AdSense stops for you, with your gathered money, you can again go back to your country to find a job. But I bet, once you live here, you may not want to return...
So many Americans and Europeans are living a good lige here under ISKCON (search Google), they never return to their home country.

it’s a great experience living in India. Come experience the India, it have modern life which you live in developed nation, dusty villages, natural resources to explore, taboos, traditions, humanity, crime, politics everything you can imagine.
I am fully agree with kartiksh. If anybody coming from US or other country to India, you will still be able to enjoy western style life here too in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi etc. Bangalore is the silicon valley in India where most big companies like Motorola, Intel, have their R&D centers and offices.
Do you know our Google has an office and a R&D center in India?
Or you can also live some rural life too...if you wish.
You can buy a luxarious 1000 sq. ft. flat in Kolkata, one metro city, for about $25,000.
Same flat in a small town can cost even $10,000.
You can actually get things done. Don't like the planning application decision that went against you? Don't like the fact that your licence was taken away because of your medical condition? Don't like the fact that your kid didn't get a place in medical school? No problem. Pay the baksheesh.
Yes, it is true. You can get almost anything done here in exchange of money.
unfortunately I got some nasty bacteria from food toward the end of my stay and my intestines will never be the same.
When you have plenty of money and you were looking for spending it whole the day, you should have bought high quality canned food or vist a very good quality, 3-star or 5-star hotel or restaurant. We have McDonalds here.

It is true...you have very high speed internet, high-tech banks and many more western stuffs, yet living here is incredibly cheap.

Both men and women will give you a lot of attention and try to make conversation but, sorry to have to break the bad news, it's not easy to "pull". While dating does happen in the cities most marriages in India are still arranged. Even when they are not Indian women won't marry out of their community very easily. Being seeing in public with an obvious alien (to use an American term :)) is a definite no-no with most Indian women.
Crime is low compared with the west and you won't need a firearm. Of the several thousand people I know in India not one has probably even thought about buying a gun. You'll probably be considered some sort of criminal when the word gets about that you have a gun/pistol. :)
Adsense allowed me to extend my trip from 2 weeks to 4 due to not needing to rush back home for my job. Adsense has created a paradigm shift in the way I think about life. Life isn't work or what you do. Life is life and Sri Lanka is full of it! If you're looking for adventure, a place where you are more than welcome with open arms, smiles and handshakes everywhere you turn then Sri Lanka is the place to go!

I've traveled for months at a time in Asia, and it's absolutely wonderful and fascinating. But you would have to be nuts to live there just to economize. Go there only because you really enjoy the place and like it. To be honest, most Americans wouldn't. We are rather spoiled, and ignorant of and arrogant of other cultures. My suggestion is to go there for a few weeks or a few months, first. Get out of the western hotels. See if you can handle it. See if you want to handle it. If you're really into fast food, freeways, the mall and watching TV, then forget it. If you're thinking of creating a little piece of America there, also forget it.

If the hotel I just learned to keep the toilet lid always closed and flush BEFORE you lift the lid just to make sure there were no surprises.
