Extremely poor ad targetting

Is it just me?

I've got one site about a telecomms related product. However, in the last few days the ads showing on the site have been so random that nobody clicks on them.

For example, a page about phone calls gets a bunch of ads offering home lighting products!

I used the ad filter to try and get rid of some of the ads as the targetting was just so poor. Just now I logged into my account and all the sites I've filtered have been removed.

Anybody else seeing this?

I've seen bad targeting lately too. (see [webmasterworld.com...] )

It has improved, but hasn't fully recovered to the levels that preceeded early April. CTR, eCPM and earnings have all dropped to ground level. Bad targeting, poorly written ads, etc. all add up to few bothering to click.

Funny thing is now adlinks are beginning to outperform the adblocks.

My filter list is intact, nothing missing there. Sure you "saved" yours?

Yup, i'm getting foreign language ads on parts of my forum. They seem to be for translation services. I asked google about it and got some canned non-response. Oh well, i'm just glad most of it is well targeted. It only seems to happen on pages with session ID's, fortunately session ID's only happen upon the first page veiw of the forum.

The site in question is all static HTML, so there are no session ids at all.

I saved my list as I had been working on it over a few days - but it just seemed to vanish.

I really hope that they address the targetting as both eCPM and CTR have been on a downward trend all this month.

Yes! This was one of the reasons why I removed Google Ads my website. The ads were completely off topic and therefore my eCPM was very low. No wonder if you displaying Miami Ads on Hawaii related website. Hopefully Y! will come up with something better. If they will approve keywords for every website the same way they do it for Overture ads, it could be awesome match. Hopefully :-)
