I think the Google letter went out about April 26 so it's been a while. Has anyone seen any difference yet?

How can we tell if we are getting any ads paid per impression or if advertisers have targetted our site for their ads?

How can we tell if we are getting any ads paid per impression or if advertisers have targetted our site for their ads?

I emailed Google for an answer, and posted it in a different thread. Basically, they said that they are "currently unable to provide separate reporting for CPM and CPC ads". They also said that reports will show the combined impressions and earnings for CPM and CPC ads.

In addition, they made the point that because the reports will contain cpm impression and cpc clicks all mixed up into one report, ctr could possibly decrease, whilst earnings stay the same or increase.

I also asked about how we will know if advertisers are targetting our sites, and they didn't reply. I guess that the answer of "currently unable to" provide separate reports covers that :(

I guess that they are rolling it out currently - or at least that's my reading of the reply. I have seen a decrease in epc over the last couple of weeks, and I did wonder if the new features were the reason. That's the question I asked G, and they didn't actually answer it.

Currently we are unfortunately clueless on these issues, Google don't seem to want to answer emails in any detail (no change there then), and nobody from Google feeds back here, though they *do* use it as a free focus group.

Come on Google - you need quality publishers as much as you need advertisers. How about a bit more feedback and involvement here from you?

interesting....
I saw extra $ in my account yesterday which I could not attribute to clicks by using my channel stats. Maybe this is the reason and there was some CPM payment in there. I was thinking that maybe it was a click-dump.
Need to check out my site see if there are any new kind of ads showing. Has anyone seen any yet?

Looks like not much has happened then. I tried changing my settings to both text and image ads but didn't see anything different. I just changed it back because I am afraid I might get some gawdawful looking image ad.

There always seems to be plenty of the usual ads on my topic anyway but I was just curious.

According to Google, the site-targeted CPM ads are still in beta but are likely to be offered in the near future.

guess so - no banner looking ads on my sites.
Either stats are out of kilter or I've been the recipient of some errant clicks from previous days (or I miscalculated).

Hummn... interesting... I'd thought it was in effect already and was responsible for my earnings absolutely tanking from a few days after the announcement through now (still in the toilet)...

Can't figure it out.. Traffic is about the same, slightly lower but not as much as the earnings...

tapping fingers waitng and hoping..
