A big part of the commentary in this forum revolves around how we can increase our Adsense earnings. Most of us have read the endless suggestions to experiment with ad placement and ad formats.

In my experience there is something else that is just as profitable, if not more so, and not often mentioned.

That is expanding the scope of your website content. That doesn't mean adding irrelevant topics to your site.

It means looking around at ALL the aspects of your hobby, interest or business to see if there are aspects of value that you don't have on the site yet. Some of those missing aspects just might draw some higher value ads and clicks.

Think long and hard about the aspects of your site that may not have been first on your mind when you built the site.

This can be especially important to sites that tend to otherwise draw clicks measured in a few penny's.

It does take a little thought, and it probably means writing a few new pages to be really effective, but the payback can be very rewarding.

The best part is that if you do this right, you don't even have to worry about the page(s) ranking in the serps to make a huge difference in your check at the end of the month. Ranking well would be a bonus of course, but it isn't necessary.

Agreed. Another good idea is to invite comment/suggestions on your site. Criticism can be hard to take, but if there is something positive you can get out of it and use, then it's worthwhile.

It's interesting to know what visitors expected to see on your site, as there may be ideas you would never have thought of, but your visitors were expecting.

Right on Ken..

I got a new idea this morning and I've been scraping.. I mean writing all morning. Another dollar or two a day eventually adds up.
