PSA ads

Hmmm... I'm getting nothing but psa ads for the first time since joining the program in June. Anyone experienced this? Could this just be a temporary problem?

Your pages probably contain flagged keywords that are resulting in PSAs. Search this forum, there have been a couple of discussions on this topic. You could always email Google and see what they say.

well i have been screaming myself hoarse. Theres definitely something going on at google. but of the 400+ pages that carry the adsense code in my site about 200 decide to behave that way , recover and then again do so. If i go bald, u will know the reason why.

This just started happening to a couple of my sites too. I cant imagine what flagged words might be on the pages and they are strictly business type pages. I'll be keeping a close watch to see if I can figure out why.

Guys don't worry, I think it has to do with the number of impressions that are generated and the cookie in your browser. IMHO, this is something just implemented that caps the number of impressions you get before it goes PSA wild.

To support my assertion:

1-It was showing PSAs on my site, but only through Explorer, Opera which has cookies disabled worked fine.

2-PSAs were not automatic in Explorer, but ocurred after a certain number of pageviews.

3-Deleting the cookies and temp. internet files, and relogging to get a new dynamic ip from my isp showed targetted ads again.

If there is going to be a cap implemented, I got no problem with it, but would like to be able to show my defaults.

I hear people talking about having psa ads all over their site. I haven't noticed this on mine but I don't usually go look at all my pages. I was wondering how often most of you check for psa ads an dif you worry about this affecting your adsense stats. I would have to check over 2000 pages.

First time I notice them in my site. My topic is sure to have paid ads all the time so the presence of PSAs was a bit of a shock.

Then again, I have had my dsl connected for over 48 hours and probably seen about 100 pagevies in the last couple of days, instead of the 6 to 10 pageview checks per day that I produce when I check to see if the site is up or if I got new posts.

That is when my cap theory surfaced.

Never mind about my cookie posts, the PSAs are back. Not even going to try to see if it is IP based, although it could be. Lets see if it corrects itself.

robink, i dont generally check all my pages. every now and then i pull up the homepage of each of my sites, just to make sure the the site isn't down. probably do this 3 times a day. (more often if i am making changes to a site and need to check to see how the change looks). today is the first day i've seen psa ads displayed on half of the sites. however, loanuniverse must be on to something, because netscape shows the real ads. would love to hear from others about this too. is it just a few of us, or is it widespread today?

Well i am half bald, my partner wants me to come up with alternatives with adsense, this is hurting us real bad. we were way happier with affiliates.

well i almost never check my own pages , but ppl when the CTR drops to something in decimal points i bet you are gonna do everything to c wats happening. If any1 gets reply / news from Google plz let me know.

at least glad to know its not just happenin to my site. i also dnt believe in that CAP theory for various reasons but am not in the state of mind to go into that now. Is Adsense Advisor / Googleguy listening? just a short mail frm them on wats wrong and when will it get fixed should do fine for me.

I think loanuniverse is correct on this one. I think it is actually a greate move because it decreases the chances of low quality and fraudlent click throughs. If you are using the g ads on my sites as a list of links to check out then I want you to start getting psa's so I don't get in trouble.

Has anyone ever asked google about these so called PSA's?

Are they PSA's or are they charity ads that still have a CPC?

My ads are back too, but CTR for the day is 1/8th of normal. Today, I won't be able to have my muffin on Google's dime. :(

This must have been more than just a little while of just PSA ads. My CTR is almost 10 times lower than usual! And like loanuniverse, my site is not in an industry where I normally have to worry about Adsnese showing PSA's on my site. Dang, cost me a good buck it did. :(

Ironically, I placed well on Google for people searching about a certain storm right now so my traffic went through the roof. Unfortunately, Adsense chose that time to take a vacation. :-(

Try pressing refresh on your browser. In fact, do this for real ads too. You will see they are sometimes cycled with the PSA
