Flash ads are being added to the regular image ads

AdSense publishers could see Flash AdWords ads on their sites.

One of the new changes that jumped out at me immediately is that a small group of advertisers will be testing Flash ads. I keep my sites Flash free for a reason, and I am not-so-happy about this change, when there seems to be no way of opting out of this without opting out of image ads completely. Hmmm...

(complete roundup of changes following shortly ;) )

The first impression I got on reading the changes was that G is stressing the fact that the highest paying option will be chosen, at every place possible.

That may sound good, but I don't want to end up seeing too many images, let alone animations. I believe they have also tinkered a bit with text ads..

There are changes already in the ads UI - now, you can choose separately between ad layout code for Text and Image ads, vs. Text Only ads. This is in addition to the option of choosing whether you want text only ads, *Image Only* ads or both.
