Hi,

I am purchasing an internet related portal site with good amount of money. This site 5 years old, receive 5K visitors daily. I will put adsense on that. But how do I know it is a clean site, not banned from adsense in past? I checked with adsense preview tool and it show ads properly. The site is PR6 and 100,00+ pages indexed.

Have you asked the seller of the website why he did not put adsense ads in it before?

"Maybe" the current site owner doesn't know about adsense.

Umm, do one thing, make a page a bout anything for example a little article abt internet and put your adsense code on it and give this page to the site owner and ask himt o put the page on his site under the Domain that u going to buy. If that page shows the Adsense ads, U are sure that its not banned. U can do it if you have adsense account already.

A bigger question is what kind of ads the site is likely to display. If it's a general-interest site, or if its topic is one that attracts mostly low-paying ads, the revenues may not be great.

Call me paranoid, but I don't think I would want to "experiment" by placing my AdSense code on a site that could possibly be banned. I would look for a safer way of finding out, like asking Google directly if the site is acceptable for AdSense should the purchase take place.

Also, if the site hasn't been banned and the owner doesn't know about AdSense, he/she will know about it after you send him that page. He/she just might keep the site and monetize it him/herself.

No, I didn't ask him about adsense. Also not possible to upload a page containing adsene code to check it show ads. Becuase donot want to give any idea about my future plan with the site.

I have idea about revenue because we are in same business. Just need to make sure the site not banned in past. Although, I have heard in some where - google allow banned site if the owner changed.

I believe this was discussed before, and someone said that they had contacted AdSense support to verify that the AdSense account was in good standing (or at least the site is not on a banned list).

It was me. Easiest and quickest way. They will let you know (from memory I was told the following day)

i too have a similar issue
i run a site with adsense and someone offered me to takeover a site on which they putup adsense just 1 month back.
infact, they even disclosed that 1 year back that site was maintained by someone else and adsense was banned at that time, but since owenership changed last month new owners got a new account on banned site.

now, they're planning to get into other business and launch own site.
can i get to use my existing adsense code on their present site?
