Adsense ads not related to topic

How can I fix this?

I've just added adsense to an article and their ads are as far from topical as chalk and cheese.

Can I put this right?

Could it be that Google's Adsense spider hasn't visit that page yet? It usually takes some time before relevant ads show up.

I can see where there might be a very thin relationship between the article and adsense.

The article talks about the products origins and various ethnic types.

Adsense put links to Visas and imigration specialists.

Can I block the geographical words from adsense?

Can you rewrite the article and do a little SEO to emphasize unique words that will make the topic of the page clear to Google?

You could try blocking some individual URLs, but there might be an endless supply of other advertisers behind them. Getting the page right will produce the best ads.

I thought about the SEO angle, the dilema is; do I adjust the keyword balance in favour of adsense and lose the quality ...or just bung a load of keyword rich syntax towards the end of the article?

Make sure your keywords are mentioned in the page title, once at the top of your page, once at the bottom of your page, once in a H1, once underlined, once bold, and one in an anchor text, and you'll find that your Ads may be more relevant.

Makes for good SEO too! :)

Tough one, that. Personally, I'd leave it be. 2 years of Adsense has taught me not to tinker with content for the sake of more relevent ads.

I don't think you need to "throw away" a nice article, or bung in a couple of clumsy paragraphs heavily laden with keywords.

What might work better is to have a look at the article, and subtly add a few relevant keywords, and subtly rewrite sentences where you feel there might be keywords triggering the ads you don't want to see. You might find that just a few words makes all the difference, yet don't change the article in any way.

I was happy with the original SEO but frustrated with the adsense links. I just couldn't see why it was providing such odd ads.

My instinct was that it is picking up various countries that are the origin of the product and attaching Visa and imigrant service links...very strange,

A lesson learned, go to bed and sleep on it!
