In a couple of months time I will be changing my middle name and surname. I've looked at my adsense account details and there isn't an option to change the name field. If I email Google will they be happy to change it for me? Has anyone done this before?

Oh. Doesn't that mean losing some earnings in the process? Is it cancelled instantly? Do you have to wait for the site to be approved all over again? That sucks :(

You might want to write adsense support - I am sure they could make the change if there was a compelling reason.

Seems the simplest thing to do would be to create a new account and put the new AdSense code on your site ASAP then sit back and wait for the final check(s) to arrive from the old account.

The issue is you can't have two accounts. I thought they ask you to close the first one and sign up for the 2nd --- and then you would have to replace all of your code . . .

I have done this.
The process is this:

you write to google saying you need to change your account name.

They tell you to apply again under a different name

when that is approved you change your code and write to them and they close your old account.

If the earnings in your old account are over $100 they will write the cheque. So in one month you will get 2 cheques.

A few months back I changed the name on the cheque from my name to my wife's name for the purposes of paying less tax on the earnings. You could change the payee name online at that point, but I'm not sure you can looking at the screens just now.

Write to Adsense support - seems the only way. I'm sure it must happen all the time, as people do change their names.

It is okay for google just write to them and after wards they will be asking you to show some legal document like affidavit for name change
