That is the million dollar question. And I'm sure there are a few people in here who are better qualified to respond to your question than I. But I was exactly where you are a few months ago. I studied CMS's for a few weeks, trying to find that gem SE friendly CMS.

From my research I found that Plone's CMS is very powerful and customizable. Plone has ready made scripts just for Adsense plug-ins.Plus it's SE friendly and FREE!

Although, for me it came with a steep learning curve. Just like anything else it takes time to grasp. If you understand object oriented programming you'll be fine. It's made in Python.

Also, Plone requires a special hosting plan. Most big name hosting companies can't handle shared hosting for plone sites.

<snip>

I hope this helps.

I like phpcms. Its free, small and simple and has searchengine friendly URLs by default. Adsense is no problem.

i have been successfully using xoops and mambo for my sites and i have dome very little customization to fit in adsense.

I am also writing templates for xoops that can include adsense blocks.

My personal choice is xoops.

In case you too like xoops and want some advice / work on customization of templates for xoops. send em a sticky.

I run two blogs using the ExpressionEngine system -- which is a CMS program.

I also run two others using WordPress.

I host adsense on all four. They turn in relevant ads, and I get enough clicks to make me happy.

I use Plone and it works just fine with Adsense, and SEO-wise.

I am working on an AdSense component for Typo3. Should be released shortly. It generates (with Google's blessing) the Javascript code automatically, and gives you nice flexibility at the backend.

Apart from that, you can use the HTML-content element in Typo3 to add the JS-code from the AdSense webpage and have it rendered directly into the page source.

If your looking for a really simple CMS thats also easy to use Drupal. Search engines LOVE drupal and to see the proof visit the drupal site and check the frontpage.

Also adding adsense in drupal is really simple. You just make a block and paste your adsense code in there.

U use drupal on one of my sites and adsense works smoooth.

I develop my own CMS since 1997.

Everything is maximal search engine friendly

There are now several built in improvements to support AdSense.

Depending on the place in the navigation, there are 15 patterns to place AdSense automatic.

For example when the menu is short

160x90
300x250

Now You ad some articles, the page menu becomes longer

300x250

You ad other articles, the right half of the menu becomes longer

left 120x240
right 160x90
right 125x125

and so on....

I can make you a nice custom CMS for a small fee (I say small). Hehe.
Custom is always better (unless it is really awful), my opinion of a site always improves when I see a custom CMS, too many sites looking the same with the same features for my liking.

I have four sites based on Mambo that offer SEO built-in as well as the ability to serve AdSense via either open-source module ads or simply creating your own module. A bit of a learning curve but well worth it, IMHO.

HtH!

I found a CMS thats really easy to use. Its called Exponent. I found it on source forge.. Its very easy to use and it looks like it will be able to host adsense with no problem. sorta like mambo but mambo looks a little to complex for a CMS newb.. I donno if its search engine friendly but I guess I can do some kind of mod-rewrite.. whatever that mean..

Have you guys heard of Exponent CMS?
