Message Too Old, No Replies

Anyone else hit with 70% decrease in earnings in the past 24 hours?

Traffic, CTR and page impressions normal, but earnings way down

For some reason, my entire network of Adsense sites has been doing poorly in the past 24 hours. A 70% drop in earnings, yet all my other numbers are stable and normal.

Targeting of the ads looks normal, no changes to my sites or content, SERP's the same, nothing seems to be banned - it's as if the bottom just dropped out of the overall earnings for no reason.

Did anyone else experience this today?

Hopefully this is just a hiccup.

I think you can safely assume that if many readers of this forum had lost 70% of their Adsense earnings in the last 24 hours, that we would have a thread hundreds of posts long by now.

If earnings were down 7% for more than a handful, we would have heard.

That smart pricing fairy can be fickle, eh?

This is really strange.

Well, I guess I'll ride it out for a few days and see if there are any more fluctuations. Luckily I have other profitable things going on, and an offline business as well, so I won't have to eat yellow-label canned cat food or anything because of this LOL

Multiple income streams is the way to go, and I'm speaking from experience here ;-)

Mine have dropped the same weeks ago. but I'm optimistic it will go back to the level where it used to be.

February was bad. My worst month so far. March was good—my best month so far. The last 24 hours have been almost the best day of the month (probably third best).

These things go up and down. I try not to get too panicky if things go down for a while. So far it's been up/down/up/down for me.

rmphoto,

I keep my ear to the tracks on the SEO front and players in that industry are saying Google is on the rampage with this months update. Apparently you're not the only one who's site has disappeared.

koka:

I was really down today, worst day ever in 2 months, but at the end of the day it picked up pace a bit so that I wasn't too far down the average, maybe 20% down or so.

All stats are normal, its just traffic that was bad. March was my best month ever, until google danced and I came down the past week, with today hopefully being rock bottom. 'glad' to see I wasn't the only one.

OTOH, a site that was ranked #5 for (what i think) is a popular keyword which dropped to page 40 i just found out got back up to #3.

Diversification is the key - or so it would seem.

Mine did the same yesterday to horrific lows. I assumed it was after careful redesigning of the whole site and that I'd just bust everything... but, today so far we're back up past previous levels and climbing :)

If you're in a technology area then the drop may be because I turned off my Adwords campaign :)

I just turned it back on a moment ago.

Just checked my stats again, and they're back up to normal (or a little better) for today so far.

Maybe it's an April Fools joke from Google ;-)

It's not an April Fool's joke, your impressions don't always update at the same time as your clicks which can leave a skewed CTR and CPM.

Take your finger off the panic button.

Mine are down as well. About 70% down starting on March 31 and carrying into today! Very disappointing.

No issues with April... March was not fun. The same slump reported by others happened early in March. By the end of March - last few days - it was closer to the daily rate ($ total) of the prev. months. Overall the fluctuation - including within channels - is getting chaotic.
