Naming convention for channels

As my number of channels has increase I have found myself a time or two forgetting exactly which one was which. <embarassed>
I was wondering what kind of naming convention some of you use. Specifically those of you who have a number of different sites and are actively testing?
I guess one could create a text file to keep track of them but I was wondering if anyone has a clever naming convention.

Keep off-line notes. Name your channels anything short and easy -- like blue, or green, or delta, or "78."

Then keep a simple database of all the ads or URIs that are tracked in each channel.

This is far easier than trying to make names that are descriptive enough to be meaningful for any possible past and future use of the channel.

I use either:

1. site-category-placement for larger sites

or

2. site-placement for smaller sites

Eitherway, it will be sorted by each site.

the point before the language is, that all the URL channels with the same domain name are listed behind.
