When should a site consider AdSense

How many hits/day or page views?

I started my site on Jan 1st & just indexed by G a couple weeks ago. I have help promote my site, figuring G wouldn't ever come around. My small site gets an average 1200 hit/day or 500 pages/day. When is it really worth looking into AdSense?

Thanks,

K

Depends on what amount of $ is relevant to you. If you have a good CPM, you could be making $150/month or more off your current traffic. If that is important to you, then start using adsense. If that amount of money is uninteresting to you, my philosophy would be to build up the site traffic as much as possible without AdSense first (in case the banners might annoy your readers).

Depends on the theme of the site.

The difference in CPM between my best and my worst site is 1:40

So with 500 page views a day, You can expext everything between paying for the hosting and a nice additional income.

500 pageviews a day is enough to generate some money with Adsense.
Just try it out, if you don't like it you can always remove it.

You can go for as little as 100 pages a day, but I wouldn't. Build a great site, get people to go to it and then throw on the ads.

Well, with 500 pages/day you can expect anything in this range:

pageviews * effective CPM = earnings/day
500 * 0.20 = $0.10
500 * 1.50 = $0.75

IF (IF) you ar in the right niche you might even see something like
500 * 7.50 = $3.50

Please, all you more experienced members, correct me if I ma wrong..

In any case, I think that having more traffic is important. If your site pays well, then it's worth while putting some effort in it.

In the first months of life of my main site, I acually paid adwords to have people going there. Adwords does not have any DIRECT influence on google rankings, but id does have INDIRECT effects (people see adwords, visit your site, link to your site, google loves you better).
