So, if i block all the ads that are low paying but directly about my content(same ones usually fill all my pages), then will the adsense mediabot go to the NEXT most relevant thing? I.e...will it search my page for other keywords that show up with prevalence? Has anyone tried this or does anyone have any guesses to how this would work? Theoretically, I assume it would work considering there a good number of high-paying keywords on these pages (but that are just overshadowed by my main theme) but you never know with adsense. Thoughts? And thanks so much everyone!

You could also be a victim of smart pricing.

This thread is a good read if you are filtering ads because you want better paying ads to show up instead.
I don't want the MOST relevant ads b/c they don't pay
If the advertiser sees clicks coming from content sites that are not relevant and not converting into sales, the advertiser will discontinue participating in content sites which hurts everyone.
The intent of the adsense program is to make money. To make money for google and for advertisers. The higher paying ads I am talking about would actually convert to MORE sales than the ones adsense is currently showing. And while the content isn't directly related to the ads I want shown, the audience that visits purchases these products (ads I want shown) more than any other demographic. It would honestly be a win-win situation, and thus so frustrating.
Just put the ads up there and leave them alone. If you're not making enough money from them, then leave the program and try direct advertising. That works for many people with special type sites like yours.

You'll probably shoot yourself in the foot, I hope you enjoy foot pain.
I recently added an extra ad space, a skyscraper, and it obviously invited lower priced ads based on the CTR/CPM I was seeing, but my overall REVENUE went UP!
Just because you block what YOU don't want, doesn't mean it's what your visitors don't want. You aren't the person looking for whatever they're looking for, let the audience sort it out and you'll probably see an increase and not a decrease.
No filtering worked wonders for me, try it.
Good Luck,
