Well I have a link directory site and the urls arent the same as most.

here is an example lets say the category name is news the url for it would be.

[yourdomain.com...]

do I add this as a channel or will directory.php be good for all links made to that one file

I think you are going to have some difficulty getting the right ads to show up unless your pages are high in keyword concentration. You can always use the preview tool or add a more descriptive url after the? in your urls.

so if i added
[yourdomain.com...]
to my channels in adsense
and someone goes to a category and it changes the url to
[yourdomain.com...]

will i get the clicks for that site.

I think there would be no problem at all.

I have a similar structure where an ID is fetched from the url and it almost always displays the correct adverts and a small change.

Here is what I did:

initial URL: [mydomainhere.com...]

result: mixed ads, some targeted, some now.

when changed to URL: [mydomainhere.com...] word here

result: targeted ads but spaces MAY create a mess and sometimes give an error is fetching data from database.

My idea: [mydomainhere.com...] key word here it may be anything etc etc

I use ID to fetch data and only pass the Keyword parameter to show(off) is URL

Results
Good accurate data fetch and targeted ads
