Clicks double earnings constant.

Am I missing something.

I setup my AdSense account about a week ago. The first full day we made about $50 on 100 clicks (hypothetically speaking). Our traffic received a major boost in the past few days and our impressions and clicks have increased significantly, although the earnings have stayed constant. Today we had 200 clicks (exactly double the first day) and our commission was less than $50.

I have added a few competitor sites each day to our URL filter and I am wondering if this is to blame for the earnings flatline. They are bigger sites who are probably the top bidders in their keyword categories.

Any thoughts, or I am missing something fundamental about how this systems works.

Filters could be the reason:

The other thing could be that no one really knows what goes on and anything you may hear on this forum is mere pressupositions that get passed on like they actually reflect reality :) smart pricing, filters, too many publishers, too little inventory, ad infinitum.

I noticed when I started a few of my Adsense sites that higher volume erodes CPM. Not the same as smart pricing. Also, higher CTR on the page will lower your CPC regardless what people tell you here.
