Hi,

New to the adsense game ... I have been running ads on my site for only a few days and the CTR seems very high (around 35%) is this normal or will it settle down? Don't get me wrong, not complaining but it just seems odd as I have read the average is 1 - 2 %

Also how long does it take for clicks to be reported?

Cheers

Elliot

Either you have found a gold mine, or expect a strong decrease in CTR.

When my CTR for a particular channel went to almost 30% (once only), I wrote to Google saying that I noticed a too strong CTR and that I suspected invalid clicks.

Just to be safe...

It is not unusual.
I have an informative (historical!) site, where users spend a lot of time browsing around, having 42,6% CTR for the whole year.

Thanks for the info ... i guess its early days so i just keep an eye on it and see how things pan out.

I am number one in google for quite a niche term and the what adsense it delivering on the page is very relevent so I guess that could have something to do with it :)

Wow, is all I have to say.

And there was me thinking increasing from 0.2 to 0.9% was good!

CTR that high usually indicates you have low traffic. That's what I am guessing. On small, HIGHLY targeted niche sites with low traffic... it isn't uncommon to have high CTR.

For larger sites with more traffic, 5% CTR is already on the high side.

Yes, low traffic is right and worth noting.
The site I refered to had only 630 impressions last month.

Content scrapers with 3 ads above the fold must have a CTR of 60% +....most of them are still around.

So I wouldn't worry.

A content page with a prominently displayed (well targeted) ad above the fold should easily achieve 25% CTR...If the traffic is fresh.
