Adsense and SERPS

Is adsense membership boosting SERPS?

For my contentful yet small (250 pages) site in a very niche, not very popular (I think) category in which I've had pretty good rankings for my keywords from day one. (never further away than page 5, although on some keywords google had more than 16.000 results)

anyway, this can be sheer coïncidence since I have been promoting my site for six months at every opportunity I get but...

Since I joined adsense last week my visits from google increased and when I checked I suddenly got top5 positions on a lot of keywords. From what I understand from other forums I do have a relatively high Click Rate and the income is also way more than the "covering of costs" we decided to try adsense for.

I am not complaining or anything, but this strikes me as weird. As far as I know I was not added to major directories recently but I can't imagine Google giving up their integrity for a few bucks.

Does anybody have similar experience?

I could proof even the opposit.

I started in February to put AdSense on a real estate domain listing all my realtors.

This domain was an emergency solution after the March 2004 Google algorithm change disaster.

This domain was always very weak, but lost now about 60% against Jannuary visitor statistic.

I guess I am just lucky then.

"I guess I am just lucky then."

Hope I don't burst your bubble, but I can assure you running Adsense on your site isn't going to improve your ranking ( unless Google has gone completly nuts and changed their algo since I typed this ).

Might be wise to investigate other factors, as you'll likly find the true source to your 'sudden' increase - and don't be surprised if you notice a sudden decrease as well.

Are you using AdSense for Search? That in itself may bring the bot around so that it can have results if someone searches your site through it. Just guessing.

bobothecat; by saying that i already acknowledged it had nothing to do with adsense. still google visits have more than doubled since last week.

and no, i don't use google search.

I've got a quite few entries in DMOZ and wikipedia. maybe they got duplicated to important sites. My pagerank is still 3 though.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'll reiterate:

don't be surprised if you notice a sudden decrease as well.
