Adding your ads to someone elses site

Can I do this and still get something out of it.

Google says you can only place ads on sites that you control. Different webmasters interpret that in different ways. My policy is if I don't own it it won't carry my AdSense code.

I just asked this question to adsense the other day, they said as long as ad code from the other account is used on the new pages, they'll be able to separate both sets of account activity on the site.

This question was asked with regards to sharing content between two adsense users, and they actually recommended that I add the other persons pages that already had her code embedded in the pages to my site rather than used the method I was suggesting.
