What's the bare minimum of content that a page must contain when displaying AdSense ads?

The reason I ask, is because I have a few pages that have some content, but not a whole lot. Therefore I was wondering if it's safe to place some ads on these pages?

Thanks!

Put the ads on and see what happens. You should not have any problems!

Give the url to adsense support - they'll give you a thumbs up/down.

Also beware of potential duplicate contents penalties which appear to have increased lately. Mininal contents may happen because all the boilerplate and navigation is similar to other pages. And if there is only a sentence or two differentiating the pages then the page might go supplemental or url-only status.

Why should G object to showing ads on pages with little content? They're quite capable to produce more or less relevant ads, and visitors are maybe even more likely to click the ads as there isn't much else to do.

1) Ad matching may be problematic, because Google doesn't like to rely solely on the publisher's choice of keywords.

2) Advertisers are being cheated if users "click the ads as there isn't much else to do." Smart-pricing discounts may help to reduce the impact on advertisers' budgets, but worthless traffic is still worthless even when it's purchased at a discount.
