Do you block ads to your affiliates?

I just noticed an AdSense ad on my site. It was for a company that I have an affiliate account with.

Basically, that ad is competing with my affiliate links. Sure, I'll make a few cents off the click, but if my readers want their product, I'd rather they get it through my aff link, where I'll make real money.

Should I block Google ads from my affil companies?

do those affiliate links convert well?

It could just be a matter of numbers.

If the surfers go to the advertiser and don't buy through your affiliate link, you don't get paid.

If the surfers go to the advertiser and don't buy through your adsense ad, you do get paid.

If you're getting a high rate of conversions on the affiliate link, you may want to block the ad so the earnings don't tank.

If you're not getting a high rate of conversions on the affiliate link, you may want to tweak the link, improve the page, so it performs better.

If it doesn't perform at some breakeven point, why not leave the adsense there?

I replaced some PSA with

Amazon books - main theme of the site

But when I look on the clicks and conversions,
it's far better paid, when Amazon appears as
a paid add.
