I am not part of adsense yet but would like some help clearing up a few things.

From the adsense site,

Copyrighted Material

In order to avoid associations with copyright claims, website publishers may not display Google ads on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results.

What exactly are image results. A large part of my website consists of the thousands of photos I have personaly taken and each photo carries my copyright. Surely this can't be refering to my own photos, can it? For example, I have my own search that allows a person to search for images on my site by category but the results are still all my own images.

And one more quick question, I know it used to be there but I can't seem to find it. What are the allowed dimensions of the ad boxes?

There are many who show AdSense on image results. It seems to be fine as long as you (the publisher) are the copyright owner or have permission from the copyright owner.

All the ad unit sizes are here:

When did this rule start? What if I own the video? What's is an "image result" anyway? What if the MP3 files were created by me?

I wonder if "image results" doesn't mean something like the Google Image Search returns?

I think it almost certainly means image search results, but if they are your images and your not spidering and displaying images that you dont have permission to do so, there shouldn't be a problem.

I assumed that, too, since displaying thumbnails linked to full-sized images is legal (according to an actual court case). I wish they would be more clear on this stuff.
