This is the first year since 2003 that December has been a major disappointment. It is usually my best month, and it may end up as my worst month of the year.

Same here. It's been terrible, like the ad spend was all used up by the 15th.

Yeah December used to be a good month a few years ago, but by now most advertisers only spent until mid December, max. The best month is November as of black Friday and co where everything in terms of ad spent is burnt. But it's been getting lower year after year since the "after covid boom"

Terrible month. Over the last 14 days, the CPC has been between $0.09 and $0.12. I honestly can’t remember the last time it was this low.

In fact, with annual inflation of 3%-5%, it would be logical to expect CPC, RPM, and other metrics to grow year by year, even for us publishers. However, the opposite is happening. Instead of improvement or growth, we are seeing a decline in these metrics. Unbelievable.

btw

I believe a minimum for advertising bids should be introduced, one that increases annually with inflation and below which bids cannot go, allowing only higher offers. This way, publishers would also be protected. As it stands now, the current trend is quite depressing and pessimistic.

RPM has dropped dramatically since Christmas eve.

I think its standard. It will go up after new year. Maybe second week in January.

This dead zone is worse than last year’s. I’m still up by 19% over last year, but they are trying to get back some of my gains. January will be interesting.

Today (Saturday) is probably one of the lowest CPCs at $0.07, with an RPM of $4.00. It's really hard to remember a day this bad. Bad enough that it couldn’t get much worse.

You all are not alone! I could have sworn that Google said that our RPM would be such that we would not lose any ground.
