- August clawback 29% (new 15-year high)
- September clawback 11% (after firewall changes)
- October clawback 13% (very good revenue otherwise - best in 4 years)
- November clawback 11.4% (best revenue month since November of 2017)
- December clawback 11.3% (good revenue otherwise, but not equal to Nov.)
- January clawback 4.7% (revenue up 9% over of Jan 2021)

Maybe Adsense has implemented something on their end, Clawback for me down from Dec's 19.1% to Jan's 8.4%.

@CommandDork

I think you are correct. I didn't do anything on my end and the clawback dropped from 11.3 to 4.7.

No deduction at all, I used to have very low clawback, but this is always odd, not to see any, hope it won't be posted "later".

By the way, Happy Valentine's day month.

Google's parent company (Alphabet) is reporting a 30% profit for the last quarter of 2021.

I've had enough with adsense and I'm going to try something new, it's not going very well this new year.

@allhearts I'm with you. I'm fed up with all the big liberal monopolies actually. I'm in the process of removing AdSense permanently from my website. I'm also sick of being their source for easy money with the clawbacks. (I don't care to hear any comments about this.) As soon as I'm paid for January, I will be closing my AdSense account, and I hope to never hear another word about them. I'll lose money that has already accrued this month, but what I lose they would most likely claw back anyway.

I tried Monumetric for a couple of days as an adsense alternative, but I didn't do that well, to be exact I made 1/4 of what I earn from adsense per day.

Needless to say I have adsense back on my site, the truth is adsense has it's ups and downs, but nobody can come close to it.

@azlinda, consider implementing some strategies as some others have to cut down on the clawback, good luck.

Read the last couple of days that Apple's IOS privacy update last spring has forced a lot of FB advertisers back to Google Ads. That has to explain why I've been seeing a steady increase in EPC since then. It's almost been like the old days, before FB became Google's advertising rival. I'd think more people here would be seeing increased EPCs like I am.

The grass is not greener on the other side.
Our frustration is linked to too high expectations. However Adsense is quite fair in terms of ponctual payments and reliable in terms of revenues. It s a question of hard work from our side as well.
I don t know any other service that can offer daily 3 or 4 digits revenues opportunities.

@allhearts

Don’t focus on Google’s profits. Just focus on continuing to improve your website and trying to increase traffic.

There are no other solutions out there that are better than Adsense. I’ve tried all of them and even the decent ones require you to have a LOT of traffic.

I don’t know what industry you are in but try to develop other revenue streams associated with your website. In addition to Adsense I publish books and sell advanced memberships to my community.

Thank you @ember, @Sissi, @gatormark

Sometimes you have to venture off to see what's out there, I have done that a few times and keep coming back.

Things at times could be better with Adsense, but even at it's worst it is still better than anything available, so I'm sticking with it.

This was sort of one last kick at the can, I just have to appreciate and be grateful for what I already have.

Google and Adsense certainly have their issues but to echo Sissi, one thing they have never done is miss a payment. Not once in the nearly 20 years I've been doing this. I don't even think they've ever been late. That alone is a reason to stick with them.

Aren't these privacy settings, also blocking Adsense? (not ads showing at Google itself).

The privacy update had to do with apps downloaded onto an Apple device having to ask for permission to track. If you are on an iPhone viewing websites through Safari then Adsense ads are not blocked (although you can block personalized ads but I doubt many users know that).

Since Safari blocks third party cookies, by default, is Adsense working?

Revenue is down 7% so far from last February. Strangely, my Adsense pageviews have dropped the past 4 days.

Well, finally, my Adsense revenue for this month has surpassed the revenue of February 2021. Still, I am continuing to have strange Adsense pageviews decreases. I wonder if they have changed their reporting somehow.

I have found two other advertising sources that are equal to or greater than Google. After I get paid the 21st, I will erase all memory of them, including my Gmail account. BTW, I have never had any advertiser who was late with a payment. In fact, I have one advertiser who pays several days early every month and always makes sure to pay well in advance of the Christmas holiday. It's not just Google who never misses a payment.

I didn't say that Adsense is the only program that's never missed a payment. I'm sure there are others, although maybe not with Google's longevity.

If you are really that unhappy with Adsense, then by all means try something else. This business is all about trial and error, finding what works for you. I've just heard a lot of people in this forum say that they were done - done! - with Adsense, only to return to using it a little while later.

If you have found viable alternatives, that is excellent. Maybe you can share what they are at some point. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it.

Sissi

it s too complicated to assess objectively Adsense given the different publishers understanding of this business modell.

Yes we see al lot of complaints but we don t see the happy Adsense publishers coming here and state it.

I think every one is free to decide on his or her own what way he or she should take.

The only thing I can say is that when revenues went down, my contribution to the deterioration was 80 % and 20% external issues (global economic factors including Covid).

Estimated earnings are up 5%
Page Views are down 19%
Clicks are down 21%
