Targeting with TypePad's Domain Mapping

For those unfamiliar with domain mapping with the TypePad blogging service - it's a feature they provide which allows you to use a domain you have registered but are not currently using to access your Typepad site. In my case, domain mapping allows me to use www.example.com (which I had registered) as the URL for my example.typepad.com Typepad site.

The trouble is that since I did this, AdSense isn't properly picking up my site's content and is posting ads for either PSAs, domain name registration services or completely unrelated businesses. I don't have this problem when I use the example.typepad.com URL (which still stays active under domain mapping).

Is there any way to force AdSense to pick up the Typepad site? Thanks!

The blog site is probably using an "IFRAME" to display the blog at your domain. Try checking the "Ad will be placed on a framed page" box in "Ad Settings" form at Google.

you probally want to remove the specifics from your post ( eg your site )

If the redirection is done through frames, then that may be a problem. The best way is to do a proper HTTP 301 ( or 302 )redirect from your .com domain to your typepad site.

I'll try the frame thing. TypePad splits up its page design with a main index and a sidebar. I'll embed text into the sidebar (where the ads are) and let that marinate a couple of days to see if that works.

Success! It took a couple of days (as I predicted) but the ads are finally targeted. The "frames" gambit worked.

hello: i have a type pad acccount and i am trying to use domain mapping so that my actual domain www.example.net will be pointing to the typepad account. my domain is registered with godaddy.com, and i have gone into the advanced DNS settings and changed the CNAME to the typepad account and i have waited about 3 days and the domain is not pointing to the typepad blog. i went in and added an alias? was this correct and then entered my typepad address? normally godaddy is extremely helpful but i recd one response that they would refer this problem to a "team leader", but i have not heard anything sense. any help would be appreciated. thank you!
