How is AdSense treating you this November?

I'm also seeing links in the non-links units, but my problem persists.

I'm the only one with a sharp drop in CTR since 7th of November 2018?
This decrease + Veteran's Day in US = DOOM for me.

The number of ad requests is ~constant, but the CTR is down from 2.2 to 1.4!
With the CPM going down as it's holiday = -50% revenue

Totally whacko stuff happening for me .!.!.!

In the first 30 minutes of Tuesday I've already earnt more than 24 hours of Monday ... and on Monday my highest earning country was Iran with US/UK EPC values!

Funnily enough, I have also bring getting a few quid from Iran. I just can't imagine my particular niche being popular in Iran. So how the hell they came across my website really don't know

There are lot of reason for the "countries" showing be inaccurate :

- the use of proxy, tor, vpm, or any kind of system to occult the original IP,
- IPv4 shortage is causing lot of sales and purchase of IP, GeoIP databases may not always update fast enough to relfect new IP owners. Without counting that some IP ranges can belong to a given country, while being used in another country.

In previous AdSense threads a few of us were discussing a new text ad format that includes an "OPEN" button instead of the nessie arrow. The new text ad format performed far worse than the original format on my websites. It was unclear if this was a penalty or an AdSense test.

I am now fairly sure that this new text ad format is the new standard. If you go into your AdSense account and try to create a new ad (text and display ads), take a look at the ad preview. The ad now has the "OPEN" button instead of the nessie arrow. Also, despite the options, you can't really change the colors or fonts. At least, this is what's happening in my AdSense account. Can you guys please confirm this on your end?

Has anyone else seen a sharp increase in RPM today? I woke up this morning to find it had doubled overnight.

Praying it sticks. Wondering if I’ve crossed some invisible threshold with page views or viewability improvements.

@wobwobs That happened to me last week but slightly differently. I created a huge number of ad units in one go because I decided to make each unit exclusive to one position on one page for all of my pages so I could more easily see what was going on with them. I started out and I was able to set the colours normally, but at some point on day two (there were A LOT of new ad units!) I started to see a different kind of ad without the arrow that I couldn’t change the colour of in the editor.

I think I triggered some kind of spam lockdown from adding so many new ads at once. It went back to normal after a while.

Iran's a major supplier in my widget trade and they're well represented on my sites with regular visitors from there, my surprise was the EPC value being the same as the UK/USA, then again I have seen this with India a couple of times too.

@wobwobs Hmm, well I thought they did but now I’m just getting the open button again. In fact I’m hardly seeing any ads from where I am in the UK. But I did just get a significant increase in earnings and every time that happens they throttle me.

I don't know about you but in my niche November is the peak month because of the above. What never ends well is December, it usually starts off pretty though.

Some cities have already switched on their lights and one, Birmingham's Xmas market, started yesterday!

The Chicago Christmas market has also opened today - so it's not just you, Birmingham. Lots of TV ads with an Xmas focus too now that Halloween is over.

I haven't received payment confirmation email yet, I don't know why, but probably they are going to terminate the account! wish me luck!

No, it's still showing my earnings from last month. Normally, it disappears just before payment.

CPC is 25p today and page RPM £3.10 p. Not too bad. Not many clicks, only 14 so far today. Anyway, it all adds up at the end of the month and we will see another three digit month so I really can't complain.

Yep, had that some 10 hours or so ago ... checking sent by it was 24 hours back!

I've turned into a lazy emal person ... too many huge 48-60 hour back-to-back shifts in the late 90s and early noughties ... almost burnt out!
