The summer months are challenging for revenue. A lot of eyeballs are at the beach. However, summer can also be a time of great optimism. Here's to summer!

Link ads pays really well, but I personally don't like it, I have to use it to maintain the earnings, and it's good for tech sites.

My CPC is 29p, Page RPM £3.51 at the moment. I've had 16 clicks, however, only 6 are registering in my custom channels. I can only surmise that the other 10 clicks have come from the mobile ads that I have enabled.

I make peanuts from mobile devices. Maybe because my niche targets desktop :/

Yesterday was another good day for me. With CPC at 29p earnings were quite good.

Seeing pretty significant RPM bounce back and forth this month, + and - 10% every day.

CPC this month is 35% higher than last month. It's kind of scary; numbers are close to what they were 3 years ago, but I'm not complaining.

Hi guys. The last 2 days were a disaster.... 60% of my revenue comes from Italian traffic and the CTR went from 0.19% to 0.01... the personalized ads are enabled on my account but it seems that Google shows only unrelated ads and 2 click (blue arrows) banners.
The total loss is over 70% of the revenue... same traffic... no clicks
Any thoughts? Any solutions? Do I really need to ask consent from the EEA visitors to get the targeting back?

@anddenc The drop in CTR can be attributed to the blue arrows you see, also known as the Two-Click Adsense penalty. From what I've read, this occurs when there are a lot of accidental clicks on ads from your website. Having the penalty applied to your site, and then having it removed, is an automated process done through a Google bot. What is recommended is that you move ads away from menus and navigational buttons where they may be clicked on accidentally. Once you make changes the automated system should remove your penalty within 1-3 weeks and your CTR should go back up again.

@Pistoche thank you! The ctr dropped only for the Italian traffic. It is not a page or a specific ad unit, the entire it traffic has almost 0 ctr. This is how this 2 click penalty works?

@anddenc, I heard of some people getting country specific penalties, but that seems to be rare. When I've gotten it in the past, it seems to be device specific. Can you check the CTR for mobile, tablet, and desktop to see if the penalty is affecting all of them?

@Pistoche You're right. The problem is Mobile - Italian traffic only. Any suggestions on how to recover from this?

You have to move your ads away from locations where they can be accidentally clicked on, such as: near menus, navigational buttons, be mistaken for content on your website, etc. In essence, eliminate possibilities of accidental clicks and the automated system will remove the penalty within 1-3 weeks.

Or just put advertisement label.
Pistoche

Yup, advertisement labels will help for sure, thanks for that suggestion.
In other news, I may have spoken too soon yesterday, I knew I should've kept my stupid mouth shut. In the 2.5 hours into the day in Eastern Time Zone today the CPC is back to May levels across all my websites. It's still early in the day so things may change, but I feel like I jinxed myself LOL

Things are looking okay for me this month. Monthly earnings are 17% higher than the same period last year. CPC is 21p so if I can get a few more clicks today shouldn't be too bad.

Can someone post screenshots of what two click ads look like? I have searched all over but couldn't find any more info on it. What type of blue arrows you guys are talking about?
