I am getting old, I don't remember If I already asked these questions about "Anchor ads" :

- how are they performing for you? I like the concept (stay on screen as we scroll, loads only when there is something "interesting" to show)

- Adsense seems to experiment with top or bottom placement. My problem is, I have my "cookie banner," which is a sticky too. So, I had my cookie banner on top, because Anchor ads were showing at the bottom. However, now , randomly, Adsense places its Anchor ads on top and both banners are over lapping, which of course is not good. Is there a work around?

- this is a not a question, but I wish we could use backup ads with Anchor ads too. So that we can display something else, when Adsense has nothing to show.

I don't have an answer regarding placement, but I have had the same question. I use a sticky nav-menu at the bottom of the page, so I have not used them to ensure that there is no conflict. I use vignettes instead.

As to the backup ads, the issue is not available inventory. AdSense only shows these ads (what were formerly called page-level ads) on some impressions, depending on whether the user is engaged with the site or has recently seen an one these ads. So backup or no backup they would continue to appear intermittently.

OK, I better understand how these ads are served.
