Today I noticed I’m not seeing arrows on my text ads, has anyone else seen this before? How long does it last?

Yup, they come and they go.
Adsense is always changing things around. This is a good thing. Helps to deter ad-blindness a little.

I noticed I really high CTR yesterday and when I woke up I noticed the arrows are one on all my sites. Should they come back in time?

They are showing on Desktop and Tablet right now just not mobile.

When Google algorithms detect a high rate of accidental clicks on ads, arrows can be removed. In this case it is recommended to change ads layout to prevent misleading site visitors. After that the buttons may return in several days.

Alright, and after changing the ad layout on my site, on average, how long does it usually take them to come back when they do? Like a week when you say several days?

I’m also barely seeing any text ads right now, is this also normal when this happens?

If anyone could shed some more light please

Relax Grapetimes. The ads change, this is normal.
Despite all the theories some may have, Adsense just mixes them up sometimes depending on inventory.

Alright, it is just bothersome because it isn’t only one site I am not seeing text ads Arrows at all on mobile sites of mine
keyplyr

Also understand the ads you see are not necessarily the ads your visitors see.

I understand that and I am looking at reports and noticing much lower text ads being shown all around. I hadn’t changed anything on my site layout in the last few months and it has been fine and all of sudden RPM was at least triple or close to that the day before it happened

I lost the arrows two times. First they reappeared after like 1-2 days (after I repositioned the ads). Next time it took a little bit longer like 1 week. Now I make sure all ads have "advertisement" labels and are not in place for misleading clicks.

Were you also not seeing a lot of text ads during that time you lost the arrows?

yes the text ad coverage was like below 10% i think

What should I do text to get the arrows back on my text ads? Will they come back by themselves?

Can anyone help me?

There is nothing you can do.
Eventually, if the arrow was removed because of too high ratio of accidental clicks , you might consider reviewing the page layout, to avoid these accidental clicks, or misleading positioning.

When you say eventually, how long do you think? Like a couple of weeks or longer?
Thank you for showing me those articles, I’ve read over them but most are from a few years ago. Has anyone here dealt with this recently and how long did it take to get arrows back on ads?

Once again, the arrows sometimes come and go.
Adsense is always changing things around.

I agree, but I believe it may be a penalty and am just wondering how long it will take to lift
keyplyr
12:42 am on Feb 25, 2018 (gmt 0)
It's absolutely not a penalty. Penalties are significant.
Some have suggested the missing arrows are a result of having ads too close to txt or each other. I do not agree. If that were true, then missing arrows would not have returned on ads I monitor after having done nothing on my end.
Missing or returning arrows are simply something that happens without any reason. Adsense just does this from time to time.

I believe it was a penalty because I was an abnormally high CTR right before it happened and be free that my site had been fine for months without any changes. I’m just hoping they come back soon because it is affecting my RPM

Well then follow your instinct. Whatever you think you may have been doing that is risky... stop doing it.

Personally, I always had better results without arrows, in fact, I disabled the enhanced text links, so they appear simple , as they used to in the old times. And it works better, at least for me.
Grapetimes

It doesn’t work better for me. I’m just wondering when they will be back after disappearing. It has been about a week.

@Grapetimes - you have received too many accidental clicks on some of your ad units. Try to make them less aggressive and the arrows will come back - it depends from publisher to publisher, from 1 - 20 days or even more.

Alright thank you. My arrows are back but I am noticing a lower CPC/RPM after they are. Is this normal. When will it return to normal numbers? Please let me know
