a year ago i posted [
webmasterworld.com...] asking if others had experienced adverse effects by going https.
my site had experienced negative effects in terms of rankings and earnings when i had tried it. the replies were divided on that.
now going https is really no longer a choice and i went whole hog for my site last month and this time things are much better. there was a bit of a dip in rankings and earnings for about a week and then they started improving over time.
at this time my site seems to be back to its pre-https levels and maintaining.
so my conclusion is that the benefits of migrating to https now outweigh staying with http. just make sure your site is on proper tls version and following best practices in terms of cipher suites, etc.
