There is a vendor showing on one of my higher traffic websites.
They apparently have a few hundreds domains registered with:
'KEYWORD''city'.com
and show them based on Google's adwords localized display ability.

It's a perfectly legit vendor and product but these ads are useless - my tracking shows they are virtually never clicked, yet they continue to show on many of my pages (yet another example of why NOT to trust Google's determination about which ads are most productive).

I'd like to give their spot to another vendor.
How can I block that many domains?

(their displayed url and clickthrough url are always different for each city)

I guess the short answer is, I don't - at least not until Google gives us a way. ;)

Have you tried right clicking and viewing the source, then searching for "adurl"? The actual url that needs to be blocked is after that point in the code. That's how I do it anyway. It sure simplifies matters.

Is there something unique but consistent with the URLs (like src=#*$!, or id=#*$!)? I've never tested it, but you might be able to filter based on this common factor instead of the url. Considering you can block whole upper level domains or down to select subdirectories or individual pages. It's worth a try. How about IP ranges? ;)
I was just commenting on another thread today, how if GAd doesn't crack down on these spammers soon, they'll need to allow more URL filter slots. Has anyone actually tried to exceed the limit? Does it actually stop you?

There is no common url, even in the tracking url (adurl).

But blocking by adwords ID would be AWESOME and in theory, simple for Google to allow.

Now there is a really good suggestion to push for Adsense, thanks.

(the 200 limit is enforced - you can't save a list longer than 200)
