[wsj.com ]

"By switching on its own ad-filter, Google is hoping to quell further growth of blocking tools offered by third-party companies, the people said, some of which charge fees in exchange for letting ads pass through their filters."

Looks like it would block the most annoying ads like "pop-ups, auto-playing video ads with sound and “prestitial” ads with countdown timers."

Thanks, Ember.

At the same time, they accept ads from ad blockers and run those ads on all our websites, until we find them and block them.

Google to provide an ad blocking facility in their own Chrome browser? Remarkable.

Does this mean Chrome users will now longer see Google revenue raising ads in Google search results, nor see Google AdSense on sites they visit?

Or will Google products be automatically white listed, while others aren't?

The wonderful world of Google.
