Automated or are humans involved?

I put AdSense ads on a new site today and set it up with a custom channel in hope/expectation that it will attract more "quality" advertisers and thus result in higher bids for my ad space.

Is the whole thing automated or is there a human involved in selecting the advertisers that will appear?

I remember a discussion years ago about Google hiring people all over the world to work from their own home/office to monitor and/or approve sites for AdSense. Is that still true or was it ever?

Do you mean a channel that advertisers can see and choose in Adwords? As an advertiser I can just let the system run and it will automatically choose placements (websites) for me. Or I can manually select websites where I want my ad to run. Any advertiser, quality or not, can do that. If the website converts well for me, which I can see if I have tracking set up, then I might increase my budget or bid to get more of its traffic.

Maybe in the early days Adsense had humans approving sites for its network. I think it's all automated now.

Thanks ember.

Who needs those humans these days?
