Today so far Page views

Problem with the numbers I am getting

Lately I've been noticing something that looks strange with the numbers when I visit AdSense.

My time zone is accurately recorded and the following numbers are hypothetical / fictitious.

About 11:30 am I can log in to my account and see I have received 12500 Page Views Today so far.

About 5-6 hours later I log in and see I have received 7900 Page Views Today so far.

Any idea why these numbers seem to be decreasing?

At that scale no.

If it is only a few pages, then it may be you (or someone else using your IP) going to your own site. At first Adsense counts these page views but shortly after (30min to an hour) it deducts them.

By that same logic, it may be deducting page views from a or several IPs that it deems invalid (for the lack of a better term).
