Has AdSense died?

For some of us. most definitely, G has introduced new measures that have killed-off some site's earning potential and no one knows why. For example, this morming I have just removed AdSense completely off a niche trade directory site, why?

2015 CTR 1.38%
2016 January - April CTR 1.72%
2016 May CTR 0.62%
2016 June CTR 0.00% - No clicks since the middle of May, 6 weeks without a single click!

My traffic remains consistent, this is either G's doing or everyone visiting now has an ad blocker which I find very hard to believe.

Okay I'm just going to put this out there, I'm not trying to be sarcastic or rude, I'm genuinely interested...

@Redbar I've been a member of this forum for just over a year, since I've been a member every month you've stated that "you'll be removing Adsense from your sites", "it's not worth wasting your time on", "there's a big Google conspiracy against your sites", "your real world business revenue is massively higher than Adsense" etc etc.

I'd just like to know what keeps you plugging away at it?
It's taking up your time and thoughts given the amount you post in the forum, is it worth it for the minuscule earnings you keep telling us about?

Of has JS disabled (many do these days).

Summer is a change of year (school is out most places, time to move from one location to another, job changes, etc). Might wait to see what happens between now and September.

I know I have seasonal fluctuations and tend to view results over 90 day periods, not daily, weekly, or even monthly. So far is all evens out over time.

Though the payouts are less than they used to be, which I chalk up to lower quality ads etc.

@Maleda

I have removed AdSense from all my sites except 6 in case you were wondering, 50% of the earnings now only comes from one specific site.

I don't keep plugging away at it, I am merely reporting my observations of what has or is happening to my sites just in case it is also occurring to others who may be wondering if they are alone or not. That is the point of fourms for those not working in larger companies with no other independent feedback.

3 or 4 posts a day is hardly time-consuming for me.

I don't think I have ever said there is a Google conspiracy against me or anyone else, it may have felt like it at times however I feel you may have me confused with someone else.

If you mean conspiracy in that Google stole every image on the web, then yes, but that was pure theft.

Of has JS disabled (many do these days).

Any evidence of this? My sites show well into the 90+% usage.

@Redbar you're right, you do report your observations which is great for feedback and I'm not knocking that.

The thing is you tend to follow them up with statements like this:

I'll see what tomorrow brings however at this level AdSense is NonSense for me.

I'm predicting that this month I shall not even make the minimum pay out therefore you'll not be hearing from me much in the future since I shall have no worthwhile contribution to make.

Insofar as I am concerned 05/05/16 will now most probably go down as the day Adsense finally died. I shall be leaving ads on some sites to get to the minimum payout level and then it's gone.

Obviously this is removal time however I have to leave the ads there until I get to the minimum payout level which probably means the end of June.

If this were an injured horse it would be shot to put it out of its misery.

Actual earnings were my fourth lowest-ever, it's going to be nip and tuck whether I make the minimum this month. I hope I do then I can remove AdSense completely on Thursday night.

So like I said before, I'm GENUINELY interested in why you keep Adsense on your sites, I know that you used to be a premium publisher, do you feel that there will be a turnaround?
(Like I said in my original post I'm not trying to be rude or pick a fight)

...just in case it is also occurring to others who may be wondering if they are alone or not

I'd say by now they're well aware.

When you get your own complaints thread, you (ought to) know it's time to call it quits.

No way, Google has no interest whatsoever in any publisher except their selected "friends".

Take a look at the opt-out on personalised ads, RedBar,
Google may have decided to let publishers opt out of personalised ads. (Remarketing is unaffected.)
(Allow & block ads > Ad Serving (User-based ads).
