Today I have the lowest Effective CPM in ages! It is about 1/3 of its previous average. Do you think this could be because of the changes kicking in today or just a reporting problem?

I'm seeing no significant change today.. Also, I don't think G has implemented the Adwords change yet. However, my CPM has been dropping a little over the past couple days.

My CPM has been down to an all time low for the last few days (even lower than last April). But such is life with Adsense. It's never been steady.

"about 1/3 of its previous average"

about 1/3 here as well. just another reminder of how depending on adsense would be as safe as walking a slippery edge on a windy day.

Very low here too. Although I've only been at it for a week, the last 2-3 days have been much lower than the days before it.

January has been very good to me, and so far today, my EPC is more than double the usual. So if there is any impact, it's positive for me. Need to wait till the end of the day to see, and then wait a few more days to see what else happens...

At midday CPM UP 33% today for the first time in weeks. EPC up 10%.
BTW I think the new policy HAS started implementing. I was noticing some very different variety of ads in areas where lots of affs were previously and certain other types of ads (Traffic Suckers) are way down. Anyone seen any aff marked ads today? I block most of mine, so I'm not a good judge.

The reason you're not seeing any aff ads is that advertisers are no longer required to put "aff" on any ads.

My sites has been experiencing lower eCPC the past two weeks. CTR and Impressions remained constant.

Here, I am down by 50% :( I think is because of all the weird ads I am getting, where before it was exactly about the site content now it's just crazy, and I haven't change much of the site, :) oh well I wait and see if it goes back to normal

this seems to happen nearly everytime the program rolls out changes. For a few days, the ads on many sites (mine included) get really crappy and off-target and epc takes a nosedive. usually the situation resolves at some point...but it gets really fatiguing, not to mention annoying.

I'm not seeing any big drop in effective CPM. Today's CPM is a little below average for the month to date. But then, some other days have been lower, just as some have been higher.

Remember, a day is not a trend! For that matter, a week is not a trend.

My ECPM is down by 15% since new year. All my sites are IT and Business related topics.

Funny, earlier this month I posted a thread asking about whether January was a down month. Our overall CPM was quite low all month, the lowest since the summer when we had only 1/2 the traffic.

Suddenly today, the average CPM is more than double than the daily average for the month.

Again, this is one day, and the day isn't over.

So, who knows? Even when it was at its lowest, we could scrape by.

Either way the drop in CPM sure taught me a lesson about diversification, and where to put our future energies.
