Hi

We was accepted on Adx exchange . So I decided to test with the Top banner 728x90 .
I used the dynamic allocation to ensure that Adsense + Adx can compete with each other .

- So I have a Ad unit with Adsense : Enabled
- I created a new Order with A Line Item Type : Ad Exchange

But instead of that we have alot of impressions not sold . and the revenues are not satisfating !

What is the best way to intergare Adsense and Adx to use the max of our impressions ?

Thank yopu

Do you have AdSense set to price priority that's lower than AdX?

trocobob, don't mean to hijack the thread, but I was also considering setting up DFP with Adx, adsense, and other SSPs like pubmatic, rubicon. Does anyone have a recommendation on a consultant or service for yield management? I need someone that knows setup and the way around DFP ideally passing as much information into their systems to see revenue by traffic sources (utm parameters)

LuckyD : How do I set to price priority .
I know that Ad Exchange and Adsense has the same Priority : which is 12 .
Should I add Adsense : Type : Network
I think it will compete also with AdX
How to allow adsense to take Lower priority ?

Thank you

Thank you LuckyD

Just one question : Im thinking on filling the remnants impressions for Adsense
So : if there is no ads for AdX it will show Adsense ( if there is any)

So can I add Adsense Like an Line Item with "type" : "House" priority ?

Thank you

I'm not familiar with AdX, but why would you add AdSense as a line item when instead you can go into your inventory settings and just enable dynamic competition with AdSense - either at the ad unit level or across all your units? If you add it with the dynamic competition, AdSense could still win a bid because it will pay the most. Not just the remnant/leftovers.

Also, if you are in AdX, I'm sure you could probably get in touch with someone at Google to help you out with this much better than any of could offer.

thank you "child please" however alot of users say that Competing AdSense and AdX probably isn't the best idea in the long run, as most of the time it would be the same inventory.
Also google in their support pages has mentioned this :

"If you have multiple AdSense or Ad Exchange line items that have the same priority level, you should ensure that they have different targeting criteria to become eligible to compete.

If you pick the exact same targeting criteria and priority level for all of them, DFP will pick one at random to compete, which may not earn you the most money. Higher priority line items will be selected over lower priority line items.''

So I didnt understand what they want to say by this ....

They probably mean that if you two or more AdSense or AdX line items with the exact same attributes (priority, targeting, eCPM, etc.), DFP will not know how to compete them with one another and just randomly pick one of them to display. This seems to be pretty obvious and it applies to any network. If you don't set any targeting parameters or frequency capping and have two different line items from two different networks running at the same priority and same eCPM, it's just a 50-50 split at random.

Reading between the lines, what I might suggest is digging deeper into some reports and targeting AdSense and AdX in different ways. Perhaps AdX is paying better for US impressions and AdSense is filling rest-of-world better. Maybe AdX delivers a crazy high CPM for the first 2-3 impressions and then it falls off a cliff whereas AdSense delivers lower CPMs, but across more impressions (from the same visitor). Then target and f-cap and set up your line items accordingly.
